This event was also a venue for the Declaration of Support for the implementation of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the implementation of Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) in the context of conservation of natural resources and ecosystems. The event took place at Aranya Coffee & Resto, Bogor, and was attended by various important figures, including the Head of the TNGGP Balai Besar, Adhi Nurul Hadi, S.Hut., M.Sc., Head of PTN Region III Bogor, Susanti, S.Hut., M.Sc., Chair of the SDGs Center UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, Prof. Dr. Lily Surayya Eka Putri, M.Env.Stud., and Dean of the Faculty of Science and Technology UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, Husni Teja Sukmana, ST, M.Sc., Ph.D..
This event aims to support and strengthen the implementation of SDGs related to environmental protection and forestry, with a focus on nature conservation in TNGGP. One of the first steps taken was symbolic tree planting which is expected to have a positive impact on the preservation of ecosystems and natural resources in the area.
In the declaration signed on the occasion, the participants committed to carrying out a number of activities in order to strengthen the conservation and sustainability of nature. The agreed activities include the implementation of education and competency improvement of human resources (HR) in the field of environmental protection and management and forestry, which will be implemented in TNGGP. In addition, research programs, scientific dissemination, and innovation development relevant to natural resource conservation were also agreed upon, as well as the implementation of the Merdeka Learning Campus Merdeka (MBKM) program which involved students in practical activities in the field.
Gunung Gede Pangrango National Park, which is rich in biodiversity, was chosen as the main location for this activity because it has an important role in maintaining ecosystem balance. With the synergy between the academic world, government, and society, it is hoped that this activity can make a significant contribution to preserving nature and supporting the achievement of the global goals of the SDGs.
