Congratulations to Prof. Agus Salim

Congratulations to Dr. Agus Salim, M.Si. on his inauguration as Professor of Applied Biology. This is proof that UIN Jakarta has made a proud achievement  as a State Islamic Higher Education Institution (PTKIN). This appointment was announced through the Decree of the Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia Number 3312 of 2025, Jakarta, Thursday (3/7/2025). Prof. Dr. Agus Salim, M.Si., is currently a lecturer in the Biology Study Program at the Faculty of Science and Technology (FST) UIN Jakarta. From the beginning, he has been known as a highly dedicated lecturer, not only in teaching but also in developing innovative research. His achievement as a Professor is the result of hard work and consistency in serving the world of education and research. Prof. Agus' scientific contributions are largely related to the fields of ecology and applied biology. One of his influential publications is a study on “Ultrasonically enhanced extraction of luteolin and apigenin from the leaves of Perilla frutescens,” published in the international journal Ultrasonics Sonochemistry and widely cited by other researchers. Additionally, his research on plastic pollution along Indonesia's coastlines has made a tangible contribution to global environmental issues.


In addition to being active in research, this Professor of Applied Biology is also active in writing and publishing books. Some of the books published in recent years include Integrated Management on Natural Resources in Asia Pacific Region (2023), Waste Management of Oil and Gas at Jakarta Port (2022), Environmental Impact Analysis Hand Book: Housing Development in Rumpin West Java (2021), and Feasibility Review of Projects Based on Sukuk Financing: An Implementation (2020).


The conferral of the title of Professor to Prof. Agus Salim, M.Si., is clear evidence of UIN Jakarta's commitment to developing applied sciences within the PTKIN environment. Currently, Prof. Agus Salim serves as Head of the Biology Program at the Faculty of Science and Technology (FST) UIN Jakarta (2023–present), and has previously served as Chair of the FST International Cooperation Delegation to Japan (2022, 2018, 2017, 2016), and served as the Head of the Edunet Germany Delegation (2017).
